What an amazing weekend I just spent at CPR in Stamford Connecticut!! Â The event hosted by Creating Keepsakes Magazine was a huge success! Â Lisa Bearnson, the founding editor of the magazine was there to share a heartfelt keynote speech that reminded all of us about the importance of photography in our everyday lives! Â I was inspired by her and by all the other workshop teachers, each of whom had a different approach and passion for their work. Â See them all here! Â
Even more inspiring were the stories of the attendees!! Â I met women and men from all over the country with a desire to take better pictures for a variety of different reasons! Â Their stories were touching and heartfelt. Â I met Pam who had recently lost her beloved husband. Â She was attending the conference to honor his life by learning more about the craft of photography which he so passionately enjoyed. Â I met AnnMary, a new mom to two young children who is struggling to accept her role as stay-at-home-mom while nurturing her own spirit and passion for photography and design. Â I met so many more wonderful budding photographers, all of whom were so excited about developing their own photographic potential!! Â It was truly a fantastic experience!!Â
I am so deeply blessed with a career that puts me in touch with people on such a personal level. Â It is my hope that by sharing our stories we have all grown to have a greater understanding of the power of heartfelt connection and honest intimacy~~ the two things I most love to photograph!! Â Thank you to the CPR staff for inviting me and to all of my new friends for embracing me!! Â I look forward to seeing you all again at CPR 2009!Â
